The Academy
The Academy teaches women to increase power, agency and influence in all areas of their lives.
Founded in 2013 by Kasia Urbaniak, The Academy has taught over 4,000 students practical tools to radically transform their lives by breaking the yoke of cultural “good girl” conditioning.
Our graduates step boldly into leadership roles within their relationships, families, workplaces, and wider communities. They become adept in the art of verbal self-defense against mansplaining, manterrupting, gaslighting, and other attacks on their personal authority. They make bold, life-changing asks of the people around them in a way that feels good to the person being asked. They can hear “no” without getting flustered or giving up, and use resistance as a way to build intimacy and partnership.
Rather than presenting its students with a series of performance-based tricks or vague instructions rooted in self-help pop psychology, classes at The Academy emphasize live roleplays with men, training new and powerful patterns of behavior.
Until recently, The Academy existed as a word-of-mouth-only institution, offering small, intimate classes that sold out without advertising.
With enthusiastic support from our global student body and in light of the growing trend of digital work and remote education, Kasia has decided to bring The Academy's work and message to a wider audience through online course offerings.
